Built and painted all by me (with the exception of my dad building Lfrith)
Wow. I’ve been building a bunch of high grades as of recently, but these kits are something else. I haven’t built an HG like this since the HG Moon Gundam came out if we exclude big HGs like Xi and Penelope, and that was 4 years ago. Seriously, the HG Aerial is solid as a rock, the joint strength is on par with some of our fully painted Master Grades. It’s so good, I didn’t even need to use anything to tighten up any joint. Other than that, color separation is great, there’s an almost complete, super barebones inner frame, and goddamn, does the bit on form look amazing. I panel lined and painted it up with the usual paints, Model Air metallic gunmetal and Tamiya Red, but I also used Tamiya Pale Green as well, and I’m very happy how it turned out—you could call this an MG and people would probably believe you.
As for Lfrith… somehow, it even has more panel lines and areas to paint up than Aerial, and I already thought Aerial was already crazy for an HG. If you two-toned the white and got decals for Lfrith, I mean, it’s just become an RG at that point. However, even if it has more surface detail, Lfrith feels a lot more… “flimsy” than Aerial. It’s not to say that it’s loose and things pop off, but they move too easily and even trying to get it to stand straight takes a bit of effort until you get it right. The shield does look better than Aerial’s, despite being one color, but the bit on form is not as impressive. At least it completes the look of her gun. While I think I still prefer the look of Aerial, the Lfrith is still gorgeous, and probably is on the league of the Moon Gundam in looks.
But yeah, these kits are awesome. It took forever to get our hands on it, but damn, we want more HG WFM kits now that I’m unsure which ones to get. If you haven’t gotten an HG Aerial or any WFM kit, you should get one. They’re awesome.
