I got this kit out of the blue… I drove to my local hobby store by myself for the first time thinking there were newer WFM kits available, but there weren’t any, but I also didn’t want to leave empty handed, so when I saw the RG Z’Gok, I kinda just got it, as my dad was eyeing on it before, but ended up being the HG Z’Gok E instead.
Little story about the HG Z’Gok E: it sucks. Not only is it a 20 year old HG kit, but apparently it’s even bad for its time. I spiced it up a little so it looks nice, but damn, the engineering in that kit is outright terrible. Don’t get it.
As for the RG Z’Gok, it’s pretty good and there’s not much to say. It’s been forever since I built an RG with a pre-molded inner frame, but it works well with the Z’Gok’s design, having its limbs having so many points of articulation. For an RG, it’s probably the simplest and fastest kit of the line as it only took me two days to do everything. I usually build RGs out of the box, but I did paint the monoeye with clear red and matte topcoated it, the first time doing that to an RG… The only extra accessory outside the mobile suit are optional 4-clawed hands, but I don’t find the lack of accessories a problem because the Z’Gok itself is fine as it is. Overall, the kit is good, nothing terrible, nothing amazing, though it is miles better than the Z’Gok E (which shouldn’t be surprising)
