Built and decaled by me. Painted and panel lined by my dad.
Honestly itās been so long since I snapped up the Forbidden I kinda forgot what I wanted to say about the build, but Iāll try to talk about my thoughts anyway.
In my opinion, this is the best Full Mechanics in terms of engineering, but it kinda acts as a double edged sword. In my last post, I made as much of the inner frame as I could, and I found it very impressive. Snapping the armor pieces together, the body was pretty solid, and my god the backpack basically built like an MG, having amazing part separation and a crazy amount of moving joints, but my god the backpack alone weighs as much as the Gundam, and as you can guess, it can barely stand on its own. The trick that I was able to pull off is to lay the feet unevenly, and position it in a way that the stance doesnāt look awkward. Little would I know that the scythe being so outlandishly large, holding it with the scythe pointing forwards, the kit somehow balances out. Granted, itās the only pose you can pull off while standing.Ā
Anyway, as this was my dadās kit, he was in charge of doing the detailing. As per usual, it would take him 4 weeks to finish it, with like 3-5 days within that period where he actually worked on it. For him, this was fortunately not as excruciating to do as the Calamity as the Forbidden had quite a few more inner frame protrusions, but unfortunately messed up on the paint in some places, such as on the right thigh, which is why it looks ādamaged.ā Once he finally finished painting, I then used the sticker decals that still suck, but none of us still donāt want to pay or do the effort of using waterslides. For how big the kit is, thereās not much that needs to be applied, nor is there much leftovers to use, so decaling āer up only took one sitting in one evening.
Finally, I posed Forbidden up and my god I really need a bigger lightbox at this point. Something I didnāt realize until I posed Calamity and Raider was that, Jesus, SEEDās druggie trios are surprisingly bulky AF, that any time I want to do a cool dynamic pose, well, it wouldnāt fit in the frame properly, if the image explains what I mean. I really had to photoshop my way to fix the backgrounds. Though, Iām still surprised what poses I can get out of it regardless. Also, thereās some great irony with Forbiddenās transformationāit balances better on the ground versus having it on the stand. Why couldnāt they bother making a sturdier adapter so that the transformed state wouldnāt be so front heavy?Ā
Well, thatās that. The druggie trio is finally complete, and I could really take on a break from this frame, although I should expect Aile Calamity to arrive on my doorstep next month. Having rewatched SEED and Destiny to catch up for SEED Freedom, which I luckily was able to catch in theaters last week, it should be no surprise what weāll be tackling for our next project⦠Iāll see you then!
