Overall, this is was a fun and relatively quick build. It’s a bash of the original 1999 kit, the Zaku HMT 2.0 for the bazooka, the Dwadge for most of the new improvements (full inner frame for the most part, nothing is visually changed, but there is improved articulation) and only 1 new runner introduced in this kit. I found it impressive how good it held for something that is mostly 1999 tech. Frame is tight, almost too tight, which I followed Dalong’s tip to sand down the shoulder and hip joints, otherwise I’d probably crack them apart. The armor parts definitely have different quality compared to the new parts, but painted up with the purple more akin to the original MG Rick Dom, the kit looks great. The water decals are alright, but it does add some detail to the kit, though there could have been more overall. The bazooka is ripped from the Zaku HMT 2.0, which is nice, but the big beam cannon is the same, with the exception of the handle having a new mold for those PG-like hands, which are far better than the Gundam PG-like hands, because at least the fingers don’t fall off. Why the hell does Bandai keep these hands for the Zeon-type mobile suits? Just get rid of the Gundam PG-like hands and just ship these only, smh. Anyway, that’s all I have to say for the kit. I don’t own the original kit, so I don’t know whether or not you should buy this or the original, though I don’t even know if they’re still selling the OG anymore.
