Well ain’t this gal a beauty.
Introducing my very first MS General mecha musume kit, as well as my first Chinese girlpla since I finished my Mad Wolf back in… September 2024—the UBP-R02T Falcon from Mecha BREAK, morphed into a hot anime girl. Now I don’t particularly care about the game itself, and I originally didn’t care too much about a generic mecha design being adapted to a generic mecha musume kit, but upon seeing reviews of her, she actually didn’t look at that bad. She was only $50 on Gundamit, it looked like she didn’t come with much plastic despite her large silhouette, she’s tall, the unfolded wings looked pretty rad, and… she got cake. I feel like I haven’t really had something that screamed more mecha than girl in a while, so when she was in stock in Gundamit, I ordered her and immediately started working on her once she arrived on my doorstep.
Being my first MS General kit, this build felt fresh. As I figured, she doesn’t come with much plastic as she only comes with a single body, heavily pre-painted pieces, two guns for accessories, and a very detailed display base that takes up quite a fair bit of space. The plastic is nice and solid, building the head and torso was pretty easy and there are many parts where they’re one full piece instead of being a sandwich of two (i.e. the forearms and the shins). However, the joints are very tight, especially with the elbow joints, the ball and socket shoulder joints, the neck and the hips. I had to sand them A LOT to get the parts to even snap together. I’m pretty sure they’re using a mix of ABS and POM together, so fitting them is the hardest part, but moving the joints around were a-okay. You’d also need to sand or cut the connection to the bangs and the faceplates as well as they’re a bit tricky to swap them OOB. As for the wings, they’re pretty fun to build with the exception of fitting this joint in which also needs a bit of finesse to do. Once everything is assembled, the kit is solid AF, making her a joy to pose, but I’ll get to that in a bit.
Next up was detailing her—no spray painting was done this time, I just hand painted, panel lined, decaled and coated her. I originally wanted to use a gray panel liner for Falcon as she was primarily white. I was in the hunt for a Gundam Fine Gray marker but found no luck locally, so I got a Micron 01 Cool Gray pen instead and… it looked look crap. Once I got all the hand painting done, I replaced the lining with black and what the hell, it looks so much better to my eyes. For hand painting, I used Tamiya Metallic Grey, Metallic Blue, Red and Gold Leaf, basically using the established accent colors. There’s a lot of hollow areas I could’ve painted gray, but as usual, I kinda got lazy at the end and left them alone. I slightly painted the display base, though I probably should’ve used some spray paint as the injection ‘lines’ still show quite a fair bit and it looks kinda ugly. Oh well. At least the included decals are plentiful, they come off the sheet right away, they adhere nicely and fit perfectly. Finally, I gave her a flat coat, and she was ready to pose!
Posing Falcon is really fun. She may not come with pop out shoulders and can’t balance for shit, but her articulation is pretty good and you have the included stand that can actually prop her up with or without the backpack (she connects via 3mm hard point). Her hips are very flexible as it connects the legs and the waist with ball joints and with the considerable cutouts she can move those legs basically anywhere. The sculpting of her torso shows off her hourglass figure really well, and the way they designed her cheeks… hot damn. >!It’s one of the finest I’ve ever seen 😩!< Plugging her backpack on, you’re basically putting a Gundam backpack on her. There’s many points of articulation, it doesn’t interfere with her hair too much, I mostly went ahead and did a mixture of Wing and Aile Strike poses. Had she come with a melee weapon like a beam saber, ooh, there would be a lot more I could’ve pulled off. Surprisingly, the backpack is not held by a 3mm peg, but rests on a hook. I thought this would be annoying as fuck, but it works pretty well, probably because Falcon overall doesn’t weigh a ton, and I was still able to use the adapter on my wire stand without any weight issues. Oh, and this goes to say that Falcon fucking rocks with her looks. She’s taller and curvier than most Kotobukiya and Bandai gals, I love her twin drill tails, and her physique meshes really well with her very angular backpack that turns hot into badass.
Overall, I had a great time with Falcon. She’s inexpensive, pretty simple to configure and has a lot of style. She just has pretty tight joints, and if you’re one who likes a bunch of accessories of the box, you won’t see that here. That’s why I like her tho. I’m very likely to get Panther if she does ever get released, but this kit is no way convincing to ever try Mecha BREAK out. I don’t know how Falcon looks great yet the mechs nor the women in the game don’t. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next time!
